357chat Guide
How 357chat Works
A plain-language look under the hood — what happens when you tap Start on 357chat, how matches are made, and why calls stay private.
What happens when you tap Start
357chat opens a live match queue the moment you tap Start. There is no signup wall, no email verification step, and no profile builder between you and the first hello.
Your browser requests camera and microphone access only when you are ready. If you prefer voice-first, toggle video off before entering the queue — the same matching logic still applies.
How matching works
357chat pairs you with the next person who is also waiting for a 1-on-1 conversation. Every match is a private two-person room — not a public lobby where strangers cycle in and out.
Median time to a first hello is under 30 seconds during busy hours. Off-peak times can take a little longer, but the queue keeps moving.
Privacy and media handling
Video and audio travel over WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP encryption. 357chat does not store your stream server-side for replay after the call ends.
Skip, block, and report are available in every room. If a match feels wrong, leave immediately — the next person is already one tap away.
What is free vs optional
The core match queue on 357chat is free. There is no per-minute meter on the basic call.
Optional extras — like additional filters — are opt-in. You can have a full first conversation without buying anything.
